Madras high court on Friday dismissed a plea seeking to ensure proper facilities for the devotees during the ceremony.
A division bench of Justice C V Karthikeyan and Justice R Sakthivel took note of the report wherein the district collector had issued detailed instructions to be followed by officials including the city commissioner of police, corporation commissioner, dean of Govt Rajaji Hospital, as well as staff of the HR and CE, fire and rescue services, food safety and highways departments regarding the consecration ceremony. All necessary work is being made for the ceremony, and we are confident that it would satisfy the public. The court made the observations while dismissing a public interest litigation filed by advocate G D Manikandan of Madurai district.
