Dindigul : Police arrested six people, including a 17-year-old boy, for murdering a man near Sanarpatti in Dindigul district on Tuesday.
Subsequently, police arrested Moorthy, 47, and Kumaresan, 36, of Nallampatti; Balu, 49, of Koovanuthu; Naveenkumar, 20, of East Marianathapuram; Sekar; and a 17-year-old boy in connection with the murder. On the instructions of Dindigul SP S Jeyakumar, a special team launched a search for the assailants. The deceased, Veerabathiran of Mettupatti, a key accused in the murder of DMK functionary and corporation contractor ‘Bathroom’ Murugan, was hacked to death by an armed gang in broad daylight on the Dindigul-Natham highway on Tuesday.
