CHENNAI: The CBI has arrested Sushil Kumar Garg, deputy director (airworthiness) of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Chennai, and Sachin Keshav Bhane, director of Salem-based Ekvi Air Training Organisation Pvt Ltd, in an alleged bribery case, officials said. A case has been registered against Garg, Bhane, the company and others over an alleged demand and acceptance of illegal gratification for extending undue favour in the airworthiness certification of aircraft operated by the company, according to the CBI. The CBI had received inputs regarding the alleged bribe demand, following which it registered an FIR and initiated action. Both Garg and Bhane have been taken into custody, and the agency is seeking further legal custody for questioning. Download the TOI App.
