File photo of late CM Oommen Chandy and leader of opposition Pinarayi Vijayan
The boards, put up in the name of Congress workers, were first seen near the Gandhi statue and later at several other locations, including in front of Kottayam Press Club. Addressed to Vijayan, they say party workers have not forgotten what was done to Chandy.
Kottayam : Flex boards carrying the photograph of former chief minister Oommen Chandy have appeared in Kottayam, amid criticism that the state govt had taken a soft stance in the high court towards leader of opposition Pinarayi Vijayan in the CMRL–Exalogic case. The boards come as unease grows in Congress over the govt’s stance in the high court in the case. MLA Mathew Kuzhalnadan was the first to publicly criticise the stance, followed by Congress‘s Jinto John. Meanwhile, Chandy Oommen responded that his father had not got justice, but that using this as a pretext to target another person was not the Congress way.
