Police said Sasikala from Kasampatti village had reportedly invested Rs 1.5 lakh in the FQL mobile app, which promised multi-fold returns from cryptocurrency investment. DGP Mahesh Kumar Aggarwal, on the same day, transferred all six cases to the economic offences wing (EOW) for a probe into the multi-district fraud. Police said Sasikala allegedly consumed poison. Neighbours noticed her condition and rushed her to the Natham govt hospital. She was later referred to Govt Rajaji Hospital (GRH), Madurai, where she is undergoing treatment. Her condition remains critical. Download the TOI App.

On Monday, Raj, another resident of the same village who reportedly suffered losses in the FQL application, died by suicide.
