Pilibhit: A 35-year-old labourer was allegedly beaten to death in Pilibhit’s Sisaiya village after an argument with his colleague over unpaid wages, police said Sunday. His wife and three minor children were also allegedly assaulted when they intervened to save him.

Sanjay was taken to the district hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival, police said. SHO Satyendra Kumar said, “Veer Pal thought that Sanjay had conspired to stop his payment which led to the argument. Sanjay Kumar was returning home on his motorcycle when he stopped at a shop next to his colleague Veer Pal’s house to buy some goods. The two had an argument over wages that Veer Pal had not received from their labour contractor. The contractor had taken four villagers — Veer Pal, Sanjay Kumar, Mahipal and Jagdish Kumar — to Bhimtal in Uttarakhand last month for labour work. Assault Incident Involving Sanjay and Veer Pal’s Family
Uma Devi, the wife of Sanjay, reported that Veer Pal and his family violently attacked her husband. According to her account, they forcibly took Sanjay’s motorcycle and dragged him into their home, where he was assaulted. Uma and their three children attempted to intervene and were also assaulted during the incident.
In her formal complaint, Uma named Veer Pal, his wife Anju Devi, their son Rohit Kumar, and Veer Pal’s parents, Kanhai Lal and Vilaso Devi, as the individuals responsible for the attack. She further alleged that Sanjay was strangled with a scarf following the assault.
