Quoting the Sanskrit shloka “Gurudevo na par tatva, gurudevo na par gyan” (There is no supreme reality or essence (tatva) higher than Guru nor there is no supreme knowledge or wisdom greater than what is received from guru), the court observed that a teacher is expected to guide and protect a student, but the convict betrayed that trust.
