Agra police responded to a bomb threat email directed at a hotel located near the eastern gate of the Taj Mahal. The incident prompted an extensive security operation. Fortunately, authorities later confirmed that the threat was a hoax, ensuring the safety of both guests and staff at the hotel.

The threat email was received on the official ID of Taj Resort Hotel at approximately 5 pm Thursday. In June of last year, a similar bomb threat email was sent to Agra Airport, prompting heightened security measures and an FIR under BNS Section 351(4) for criminal intimidation by anonymous communication, alongside Section 66F of Information Technology (IT) Act. “No suspicious object was found anywhere in the hotel,” said ACP (Taj Security) Yatendra Nagar, adding that cyber and police teams are investigating the origin and source of the email. Prompted by the alert, hotel employees immediately notified local authorities. A heavy security deployment, including a bomb disposal squad, dog squad, fire brigade personnel and local police teams, was rushed to the scene. Security personnel cordoned off the property and conducted an intensive, hours-long search of the entire premises, thoroughly checking every room.
