Agra: Students and parents in Bhamori Khurd village in UP’s Aligarh district boycotted classes on Wednesday, staging a protest over a severely dilapidated govt primary school building they fear could collapse.
A technical assessment of the Bhamori Khurd structure has been completed, and official demolition proceedings are now underway,” Singh said. Located in Atrauli assembly constituency, represented by minister of state for basic education Sandeep Singh , the school has fallen into deep disrepair. Protesters highlighted that large chunks of plaster are constantly falling from the ceiling, deep cracks riddle the walls, and rainwater leaks directly through the damaged roof. Protesters submitted a memorandum to basic education department demanding either urgent repairs or a new building at a safe location. Addressing the situation, Aligarh BSA Alok Kumar Singh stated that operations were relocated to Hevatpur from a safety standpoint. “The principal concerned has already been suspended on charges of negligence in building maintenance and misuse of the composite grant.
