Yogendra Sharma said, “The incident had caused deep resentment within the community. Agra : Tension flared up in Bujwala Kuan area in Hathras after a statue of Lord Parshuram at Parshuram Chowk was vandalised late Tuesday night, with a biker allegedly throwing mud at it and damaging its axe and bow. The incident sparked anger among the local Brahmin community, drawing a large crowd of protesters to the spot. Prominent figures, including Brahmin Mahasabha president Yogendra Sharma, also arrived at the scene to demand swift action. Members of the Mahasabha subsequently cleaned the statue. He warned that failure to act promptly could lead to wider resentment and held the administration responsible for the situation. Police examined CCTV footage from surrounding cameras, which captured a lone biker approaching the monument, throwing mud and fleeing. Download the TOI App.
