Meerut: In a twist to an alleged rape case in Pahasu area of UP’s Bulandshahr district, an investigation has revealed that a 16-year-old boy initially accused of rape was actually the victim of prolonged sexual abuse, financial extortion and blackmail by his 42-year-old aunt.
The woman has been arrested and remanded to 14 days’ judicial custody under Pocso Act and relevant sections of BNS. The case initially came to light two months ago when the mother of two filed a police complaint, claiming the teenager, whom she falsely stated was 21 years old, had sexually assaulted her and recorded an objectionable video. Police found that the boy’s actual age was 16 years, making him a minor under Pocso Act, which defines a child as anyone under 18. Pahasu police station in-charge Amit Singh Baliyan said an FIR has been registered against the woman under BNS sections 308(2) (extortion) and 351(2) (criminal intimidation), alongside sections 5(L), 6, 13(A), and 14 of Pocso Act.
The minor told police that the woman had forced him into sexual relations for nearly a year, taking advantage of times when her husband was away. Acting on her complaint, police registered a rape case. However, a probe unravelled her false narrative. She allegedly used the recorded videos to blackmail and threaten him if he spoke out. With the digital evidence pointing to the woman’s culpability, police filed a closure report in the original case against the teenager. Simultaneously, a fresh FIR was registered based on a complaint by the boy’s father.
