Bijnor: A tragic accident occurred on Friday morning when a speeding car collided with a parked pickup truck on the Najibabad-Rudrapur Highway near the Sarwanpur crossing. The impact resulted in the deaths of three individuals who were eating by the roadside at the time of the incident. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash, which highlights ongoing concerns about road safety in the area.
Five individuals from Punjab—Mandeep Singh (25), Arshdeep Singh (26), Jaggu alias Gagandeep (30), Prince (12) and Sunny (11)—were travelling back to Punjab from Pilibhit after attending an animal fair, carrying two horses in their vehicle, according to ASP Krishna Gopal Singh. Around 2 am, a car approaching from Haridwar side crashed into the pickup before ploughing into the three men, who sustained fatal injuries and died on the spot. The police have taken the damaged car into custody and launched a search to apprehend the absconding driver.
