Pannalal Kashyap
Bareilly SSP Anurag Arya had earlier announced a reward of Rs 25,000 for information leading to Kashyap’s arrest. A crime branch team, led by inspector Arun Kumar, had been tracking him for an extended period, monitoring suspected hideouts and conducting a raid in Ghaziabad before finally locating and apprehending him in Meerut.
Meerut/Bareilly: BSP leader Pannalal Kashyap, who had held a position equivalent to minister of state rank when the party was in office in 2007, was arrested from Meerut by Bareilly crime branch on Tuesday in connection with an alleged multi-crore fraud targeting local farmers.
Kashyap and his associates allegedly lured farmers into handing over land or money by promising high returns from hotel, factory and property ventures, according to police. After gaining their trust and collecting the funds or land, the accused began delaying payments on various pretexts.
