As per the Government of India notification issued on September 5, 2026, the schedule for Uttar Pradesh, along with Uttarakhand, Goa and Punjab, remains unchanged. Self-enumeration will be held from November 16 to 30, 2026. The reference date and time for the exercise will be January 5, 2027, at 12am. The clarification came amid confusion over an October 30 notification that set January 25 to February 28, 2027, as the population enumeration period in other states and Union territories.
The Census authorities said that schedule does not apply to Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Goa, Punjab and other areas specifically excluded in the notification.
