He asked the administration to coordinate with Durga Puja committees to ensure that their arrangements do not obstruct roads or inconvenience commuters. Gorakhpur : Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday directed officials to ensure tight security during Durga Puja and Dussehra celebrations, stressing that traffic movement must not be disrupted during the festivities.
Chairing a review meeting with officials at Gorakhnath Temple, the chief minister said idols should not be installed on roads and that the height of idols and pandals should be kept within reasonable limits. Reviewing arrangements for idol immersion, the chief minister directed officials to ensure that DJ volume remained within prescribed limits. He asked the administration to identify designated immersion sites and ensure that idols were immersed in artificial ponds wherever these had been constructed. The chief minister reviewed river water levels and sought details of relief and rescue operations for people affected by floods and heavy rainfall. He directed officials to closely monitor river levels, keep all concerned departments on alert and ensure adequate assistance to affected families.
