Yogi recently made headlines for breaking protocols by clicking selfies during two high-profile events in Lucknow — appointment letter distribution programme on Aug 25 and with Japanese and students on Aug 21. Yogi’s youth outreach comes amid the state cabinet nod to distribution of 25 lakh free tablets to the students under the Swami Vivekananda Youth Empowerment Scheme.
Sources said UP govt plans to hand over these one lakh appointment letters in rapid phases, with Yogi issuing guidelines to state recruitment commissions and boards to ensure that the hiring cycle is completed within six months. A senior BJP member said the six-month deadline is important with govt creating a delivery window before the campaign intensifies in the coming days. Lucknow: From clicking selfies with youngsters to promising tablets and jobs, chief minister Yogi Adityanath has emerged as BJP ’s most visible face of youth outreach, just weeks after Modi govt as well the BJP faced a Gen Z backlash over the NEET paper leak row. This rapid-fire employment push is widely viewed by analysts as a strategic outreach to youth ahead of the UP elections.
These records, a senior BJP member said, were proposed to be compiled and distributed among people. The CM also tasked the party legislators to host localised youth assemblies (Yuva Samvad Sangam) in what could allow the youth to pose questions regarding employment, state exams and local opportunities.
Earlier this month, Yogi had asked BJP MLAs to compile detailed records of benefits rolled out to youth in their respective constituencies.
