Gorakhpur’s Gorakhnath Temple is set to hold a week-long tribute program from September 24 to 30. This event commemorates the 57th death anniversary of Brahmaleen Mahant Digvijaynath and the 12th death anniversary of Brahmaleen Mahant Avaidyanath. The tribute aims to honor the legacy of these influential figures in the community, highlighting their contributions and impact on the temple and its followers.
A week-long Bhagwat Katha Gyan Yagya will begin on Sep 23, with noted Vrindavan-based preacher and Malookpeethadhishwar Swami Rajendra Das Devacharya delivering the discourses. As part of the programme, seminars on various themes will be held from Sep 24. Tribute meetings for Mahant Digvijaynath and Mahant Avaidyanath will be held on Sep 29 and 30 respectively.

Temple chief priest Yogi Kamalnath said the annual event will feature religious discourses, conferences on contemporary issues, tribute meetings and community programmes. Topics include Indian knowledge traditions, drug abuse awareness, India’s democratic heritage, Sanskrit and Indian culture, and cow welfare. An Akhand Manas Path and community feast will also be organised. The temple administration will also operate free bus services daily for devotees attending the Bhagwat Katha, covering multiple routes across the city to facilitate transportation to and from the temple premises.
