The emergence of CCTV footage has added a fresh dimension to the case

Kanpur : Additional district and sessions judge Nisha Srivastava on Wednesday dismissed the anticipatory bail applications of the two accused in a fake cement case- Dheeraj Gupta and Neeraj Gupta.

Pleading before the court, additional district govt counsel Vinod Tripathi stated that complainant Mumtajul Haq is the sales manager of Adani (ACC Ltd) and he had lodged an FIR on Oct 14 stating that some persons were preparing and selling fake cement under the name of the company. The alleged accused, in their anticipatory bail application, stated that their firms dealing in cement sales were different and they have no link with the preparation and selling of fake cement. Moreover, in the FIR, the name of their firm was not mentioned. ADJ Vinod Tripathi strongly opposed the bail and pleaded that both the brothers, Dheeraj and Neeraj Gupta, had colluded with other co-accused involved in the sale of fake cement.
