Police had announced a reward of Rs 10,000 each for the siblings. ACP Kotwali Ashutosh Singh said local residents Asif Mansoori and Amit Gautam lodged FIRs in 2025 and 2026, respectively, against Satyam, Ojasvi and their associate Naushad Ali , all residents of Tiwari Pur in Jajmau. Asif’s mother, Raisa Begum, paid Rs 45,000, while Amit paid more than Rs 2 lakh in several instalments. Police arrested Satyam in Sector 15 and Ojasvi in Sector 62 on Tuesday.

Police said the accused had cheated several people of lakhs of rupees. Two cases had been registered against Satyam Tiwari and his brother Ojasvi at Jajmau police station after the alleged fraud came to light. The accused allegedly asked victims and their relatives to fill out forms on the pretext of helping them secure homes under PMAY and collected money from them by showing fake allotment and possession letters. Satyam and Ojasvi fled to Noida after the cases were registered. Their father, Rajesh Tiwari, and Naushad are absconding. Download the TOI App.

The siblings, against whom non-bailable warrants had been issued, were brought to Kanpur on Wednesday and sent to jail.
