Members of the Hinduja group with CM Yogi Adityanath
Lucknow: Hinduja Group leadership met chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday and announced plans to expand operations in Uttar Pradesh across mobility, renewable energy and digital connectivity, including a proposed investment of more than Rs 1,000 crore in a pumped-storage project in Mirzapur. The first GANGA fibre network went live in Lambhua, Sultanpur, on Sept 29, with six customers connected. Its Road to School initiative covers 415 schools and more than 45,000 children across Gorakhpur, Aligarh and Lucknow.
The group is also scaling up Project GANGA, its digital connectivity initiative launched in June.
An official spokesperson said Sunil K Chadda, group president, corporate affairs, briefed chief minister on the group’s current work in the state and outlined proposed investments. Chadda said UP remained central to the group’s growth plans. Hinduja Group’s footprint in UP also includes financial services, healthcare, education and CSR programmes.
