Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Congress president Aradhana Mishra ‘Mona’ on Monday targeted the state govt over delays and disputes in recruitment examinations, citing the Allahabad high court’s stay on issuance of appointment letters to candidates selected in the UP Police SI recruitment-2025 and a protest by aspirants awaiting the next stage of the UPSSSC junior engineer recruitment.

15.75 lakh candidates applied for the SI recruitment-2025 and about 10.77 lakh appeared in the written test, according to the Congress. It said 12,733 candidates were declared eligible for the next stage and the final result was announced on July 14. The Allahabad high court on Oct 1 stayed the issuance of appointment letters, with the next hearing listed for Oct 9. Mishra also highlighted UPSSSC JE recruitment under notification 08/2024, initiated on March 7, 2024. She cited cancellations of the 2024 police constable and RO/ARO exams after paper-leak allegations.

She claimed a nexus between the BJP govt and a “recruitment mafia” and questioned why recruitment calendars and appointment timelines were not being adhered to. Mishra alleged that repeated paper leaks, cancellation of examinations and prolonged recruitment cycles had pushed lakhs of young candidates into uncertainty.
