Lucknow: UP BJP president Pankaj Chaudhary on Monday targeted the previous Samajwadi Party govt, alleging that youth were earlier pushed towards lawlessness, while the present ‘double-engine govt’ was creating opportunities in education, employment and entrepreneurship.
He called on young people to take a leading role in achieving the goal of a developed India by 2047, saying the country’s future depended on the energy, innovation and commitment of its youth. Referring to Meerut’s historical significance in the 1857 First War of Independence, he said the city symbolised sacrifice and national duty. He also referred to Uttar Pradesh Startup Policy 2026, stating it was focused on future technologies including artificial intelligence, drones and robotics. He said the state’s startup ecosystem, which he claimed included more than 24,000 startups, would receive further momentum through these initiatives.
Speaking at a Yuva Samvad programme in Meerut, Chaudhary said improved law and order had helped draw large-scale investment to the state, leading to job creation for young people. Chaudhary said BJP and its govts would continue supporting youth in meeting their aspirations and contributing to nation-building. He paid tribute to freedom fighters Kotwal Dhan Singh Gurjar and Rao Kadam Singh, and said their legacy should serve as an inspiration for the present generation. Invoking Swami Vivekananda’s emphasis on empowering youth, Chaudhary said India’s large young population had the capacity to transform the nation’s trajectory. He said the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and CM Yogi Adityanath had brought major economic and social changes, and claimed India had become the world’s third-largest startup ecosystem. Young entrepreneurs from smaller cities were building successful enterprises driven by innovation and technology, according to him. Highlighting govt measures aimed at youth empowerment, Chaudhary said Centre had abolished the angel tax on startups.
The event was attended by BJP national president Nitin Nabin, chief minister Yogi Adityanath and other senior party leaders. He credited young Indians with strengthening the country’s global standing, particularly in areas such as fintech, space technology, defence manufacturing and startups.
