Highlighting his govt’s record, the CM said a transparent recruitment system was introduced immediately after BJP came to office in 2017. He claimed that 9.5 lakh youths had so far received govt job letters and another 2,500 appointment letters would be distributed on Tuesday. Yogi claimed that Uttar Pradesh had remained riot-free for the past 9.5 years and contrasted BJP govt’s law-and-order record with previous govts. Referring to the Kairana exodus and recurring curfews before 2017, he said incidents of riots, forced migration and organised crime had significantly declined under his govt.

Lucknow: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday targeted the opposition over corruption in recruitment processes, saying questions were being raised by those under whose rule “not a single recruitment process was clean”. Addressing BJP’s Yuva Samvad programme at a private university in Meerut, Yogi said that as soon as vacancy advertisements were issued in previous govts, networks of relatives and middlemen would begin extorting money and influencing appointments. Reiterating govt’s commitment to employment generation, he said one lakh more youths would be given jobs within the next six months under the revived Mission Rozgar initiative. Yogi said that during Samajwadi Party govt, appointment letters were issued even to candidates who had not appeared for examinations. Calling on youth to put the nation first, the CM said BJP’s “double-engine govt” has created opportunities for youth across sectors. Quoting Swami Vivekananda, he said the value of education lay not merely in earning money but in fostering dedication towards the nation. He said the city, once associated with riots and the dismantling of stolen vehicles, had witnessed a major turnaround after strict action against criminal networks.

The event was attended by BJP president Nitin Nabin, UP BJP chief Pankaj Chaudhary and other senior party members. Speaking about west UP, particularly Meerut, Yogi recalled its historical significance and transformation over the past decade. He cited improved connectivity through expressways and Namo Bharat Rapid Rail corridor as examples of development.

Taking an apparent swipe at Rahul Gandhi, he said a negative outlook could not represent the spirit of youth, adding that India’s young population had consistently turned challenges into opportunities. The CM also credited Atal Bihari Vajpayee for telecom reforms and PM Narendra Modi for driving the digital revolution.
