Locals tied one youth to a tree and beat him after suspecting abduction
The two youths, Radhe and Sonu, had gone to meet a 28-year-old woman, according to police. Khutar police have registered a case against Sonu and Radhe under Section 87 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for allegedly trying to abduct the woman.
A video of the incident has since gone viral on social media, police said. The two are her brothers-in-law by relation, police said. Both youths later fled the village, police said. SP Dixit said action would be taken against those who allegedly tied up and assaulted the youths if a complaint is filed.
SHAHJAHANPUR: Two youths who went to meet a woman in a village were allegedly caught by locals, with one of them tied to a tree and beaten. She had been married for about eight years and had recently been in contact with the two men over the phone. Police have also taken note of the viral video.
The incident took place on Friday afternoon in Maholiya Veeran village under Khutar police station, Superintendent of Police Saurabh Dixit said.
