Two motorcyclists die in a head-on collision

A tragic head-on collision involving two motorcyclists occurred near Rura Tiraha on the Rasoolabad-Shivli route in Kanpur Dehat, resulting in the deaths of both riders. Authorities are investigating the incident to determine the circumstances that led to the crash.

Kanpur: Two motorcyclists died in a head-on collision near Rura Tiraha on the Rasulabad-Shivli route in Kanpur Dehat around 12:30 pm on Monday. The deceased were identified through their motorcycle registration numbers as Raj (21), son of Ghulam Rasul and a resident of Talib Sarai in Unnao, and Divakar (27), son of Vijay Kumar Saksena and a resident of Simramau Banipara in Rura.

Police said the speeding motorcycles collided under Shivli police station limits, throwing both riders into a roadside ditch. Police took them to hospital, where doctors declared them dead. Divakar was travelling towards Kanpur, while Raj was coming from Rasulabad.

Station House Officer Amarendra Bahadur Singh said the bodies had been sent for post-mortem examination. An FIR would be registered and further action taken based on the complaint. Download the TOI App.
