Doctors said the child’s condition was stable and he was kept under observation. Kanpur: A Class III student was admitted to the Primary Health Centre at Sarsai Nawar after he was bitten by a snake outside his school at Murcha village in Takha area on Monday.
The child’s mother, Prabha Devi, said her son Yogendra Kumar studies in Class III at Murcha Primary School. Block education officer Anupam Shukla, however, said he had received information that the child was outside the school when he was bitten by a poisonous insect. He said the child was receiving treatment and his condition was stable. Shukla said one of the women teachers at the school was on leave and only two teachers were present at the time, making it difficult for either of them to immediately accompany the child to the health centre.
School authorities informed her that Yogendra had been bitten by a snake, following which family members rushed him to the health centre. A teacher was sent to the hospital later, he added.
