Police have arrested 17 people, including two women, and registered murder cases. Midnapore : The death toll in a clash between rival factions at Hatihalka under Kotwali Police Station rose to two after another injured person died at a Kolkata hospital late Saturday night.
On Sunday, all 17 accused were produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate’s Court in Midnapore. Six key accused were remanded in police custody for four days, while 11 were sent to 14 days’ judicial custody. Two Trinamool criminals released on bail may have incited the violence.”
