Queen Elizabeth II gifted her this antique diamond necklace in 1968 on her 18th birthday. Princess Andrew’s Meander Tiara, known as the Greek Key Tiara, has a distinguished angle in its family history that interests us even more. This diamond bandeau belonged to Princess Alice of Battenberg, Anne’s paternal grandmother and Prince Philip’s mother. The tiara was given to Alice as a wedding gift upon her marriage to Prince Andrew of Greece and Denmark. Later, Alice passed the tiara to her daughter-in-law, the future Queen Elizabeth II, who eventually gave it to Princess Anne.
