In the Best Indian Whisky category, Indri Diwali Collector’s Edition 2025 secured the top position with 93.53 points, followed by Indri Dru Cask Strength Single Malt Indian Whisky at 90.87 points. Indri Agneya Single Malt Indian Whisky completed the top three with 89.70 points. The Best Blended Indian Whisky category saw Seagram’s Blender’s Pride Reserve Collection take first place with 85.87 points, followed by Seagram’s Oaken Glow with 85.03 points.
Over the past decade, Indian distilleries have steadily challenged long-held perceptions, producing world-class single malts that have won over consumers at home and earned the respect of international experts. Indian single malts are no longer the underdogs of the whisky world. What was once a niche premium category has emerged as one of the biggest success stories in the global spirits industry. Their growing global reputation has been reinforced by a string of international accolades, with the latest International Whisky Competition (IWC) adding another milestone to the journey. This year, Indian single malts emerged as the standout performers across the competition’s major categories. The competition is divided broadly into Scotland, USA, Ireland, Japan, Canada, India and World/Other Countries. The same trio also swept the Best Single Malt Indian Whisky category, with identical rankings and scores, reflecting the consistency of their performance across judging. Seagram’s Royal Stag Double Dark Peaty Whisky secured the third spot.
