GTA 6 is set to have the biggest map created by Rockstar Games (Image via Rockstar Games)
Fortunately, there will likely be a fast travel system in GTA 6, allowing you to use transports like buses, trains, or taxis. GTA 6 is going to have a detailed map present as part of the pause menu. This feature is going to be similar to the bounty system from Red Dead Redemption 2. When you end up committing crimes in GTA 6, the affected area becomes a Heat Zone highlighted in red on the map.
The game will also have a special system, as part of which the map won’t show every place in Leonida until you visit it. This encourages exploration without revealing hidden locations right away. This will make it easier for you to move across the map. It will be using satellite-like 3D imagery, showing things like hideouts, businesses, and other landmarks.
GTA 6’s world is going to be massive, with the recent mapping project named Yanis revealing key details about the map. In the section below, we provide you with everything we know about the GTA 6 map so far. As per the reports, the GTA 6 map is going to be twice the size of GTA 5 and 3x bigger than that of Red Dead Redemption 2’s playable area. Additionally, Vice City in GTA 6 is going to be twice the size of Los Santos from GTA 5, and the surrounding regions are going to be 11 times bigger than the urban areas found outside Los Santos. At the time of writing, it is known that Leonida is packed with five counties, 10 cities and towns, multiple beaches, forests, mountains, and underwater locations. The GTA 6 open world is going to have loads of enterable buildings, which hasn’t been the case in the previous titles from the series.
Leonida is set to feature a variety of unique things for the players to experience, with islands, cities, swamps, and more. It is going to be unlike any open world Rockstar has built before in terms of sheer scale, interactivity, and variety. You can expect it to bring a variety of things, including hundreds of enterable interiors, a detailed 3D pause map, and a dynamic Heat Area wanted system that changes how the entire map functions based on your criminal behaviour. This ends up making it the largest open world Rockstar has ever created. After you finish the opening mission, you will receive access to the entire Leonida map, and there will be no invisible walls or region locks. The five counties are Kelly, Lummox, Leonard, Vice Dale, and Mariana, each with its own distinct culture, atmosphere, and terrain. You will be able to enter a variety of different buildings on the map, making the game feel a lot more interactive. Police will be patrolling that particular region for a set period of time. The entire map will become a Heat Area if you end up with six stars. Get the latest Sports News and Live updates. Download the TOI app.
