Fortnite’s annual Halloween celebration is almost here, and Epic Games has officially confirmed that Fortnitemares 2026 launches on Thursday, October 1, 2026. It is arriving in the form of the game’s v42.30 update, which is the third major release of the ongoing Override season.
This ties directly into the glitch aesthetic running through the current Chapter 7 Season 4 Override storyline. Cupcake Back Bling, Fazbear Kicks, and a Jam Track based on The Living Tombstone’s FNAF theme song round out what’s confirmed so far.
The official teaser, posted with the caption “Nitemares really do come true,” shows the Fortnitemares 2026 logo displayed on a cracked, corrupted screen alongside the tagline “The Game Is Cursed. The new release is set to bring in a variety of themed content into the game, including collaborations and skins. In the section below, we take a look at Fortnitemares’ release date, what’s expected and more. The trailer also teased a horror-themed game mode built around surviving a night at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria, complete with the ability to transform into an animatronic after defeating one. A Mr. League of Legends’ Ahri Classic Fortnitemares weapons are expected to make a comeback as unvaulted items or Loot Hacks, including the Chainsaw, Witch Broom, Wood Stake Shotgun, Dual Fiend Hunters, and Ghostface’s Last Call knife. Game files also hint at new Exotic items, including a pumpkin-shaped rocket ride and a candy corn healing item.
