Antonio Brown has once again found himself at the center of an NFL social-media storm and this time, Caleb Williams is the target. The former NFL wide receiver appeared to have no sympathy for the Chicago Bears quarterback after Williams was carted off during Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings. As fans worried about the young QB’s health, Brown jumped into the conversation with a post that quickly turned heads for all the wrong reasons.
Williams had gone down during the fourth quarter of Chicago’s 9-3 loss to Minnesota. The post immediately added a controversial twist to what had already been a worrying moment for Bears fans. The quarterback was scrambling toward the goal line when he suddenly appeared to grab the back of his right leg. He was helped from the field before eventually being taken to the locker room on a cart. There was, however, some relief for Chicago after the initial scare. Williams underwent an MRI Monday, and the results did not show a significant hamstring injury. That was welcome news after the quarterback’s dramatic exit from Sunday’s game.
Williams’ Status for Week 3 Remains Uncertain
Head coach Ben Johnson reported that running back Williams is currently considered “week to week” and is expected to miss some playing time. While Williams has not been officially ruled out for Chicago’s Week 3 game against the Philadelphia Eagles, the team will closely monitor his recovery progress.
