Variety KC announced its partnership with Randi on Aug. Randi Mahomes found another way to use her connection with Kansas City sports to help children. Patrick Mahomes ’ mom teamed up with Variety KC for the first Heart & Serve pickleball tournament on Sept. Randi also took part in the tournament and helped bring attention to a cause she has supported for years. The organisation planned the inaugural Heart & Serve tournament for Sept. Randi served as the event’s emcee and joined other professional sports moms and wives at the charity event.

According to a Variety KC and SERVfun update the Kansas City community raised more than $150,000 to support children with disabilities through the event. In an August 9, 2024 report about Heart & Serve, Variety KC said it was excited about the Mahomes family’s support and the chance to introduce its work to a larger Kansas City audience. In the August 2024 announcement, he said, “We are thrilled to partner with Randi Mahomes and other incredible athletes’ families for this unique event. After Heart & Serve on September 14, 2024, Randi shared her reaction to the event and said, “This was so much fun.

The fundraiser had a clear goal. Proceeds would support Variety KC and its work with children who have special needs and disabilities. The organisation helps families get medical equipment and services for mobility, sensory needs, communication, safety and therapy. Then came the number that showed the reach of the fundraiser. Randi’s involvement with Variety KC did not start with Heart & Serve. Variety KC also had a strong connection with the Mahomes family. He added that the event gave the community a chance to come together through sports and philanthropy. She made the comment after taking part in the Variety KC charity pickleball tournament.

She had supported the organisation through birthday fundraising campaigns and other charity efforts before the pickleball tournament. Marc Harrell, Variety KC’s chief inclusion officer and executive director, also spoke about the partnership before the tournament.
