Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen’s divorce has resurfaced with a surprising new claim about what may have influenced the former couple’s decision to end their 13-year marriage. A new book, Brady: An American Story and the Price of Greatness by Lars Anderson, examines the strain that grew around Brady’s return to the NFL in 2022. One source claims astrology played a role in her thinking, although the allegation has not been confirmed by either Brady or Bündchen.
Brady made efforts to repair the relationship, while Bündchen had reached a different conclusion, according to accounts cited in the book.
Brady later stepped away from the Buccaneers for 11 days during the summer of 2022. The marriage ultimately ended in October 2022. PEOPLE had previously reported that Brady wanted to find a way forward and was prepared to seek professional help.
Then Tampa Bay’s quarterback coach, Brady returned to training camp looking deeply affected by what had happened privately, according to Clyde Christensen. “This was not Tom’s idea,” an insider told PEOPLE at the time about the couple’s decision to divorce. Bündchen, who has an interest in astrology, believed the couple were not compatible, according to a source quoted in the book. “Then one day, Gisele, who is really into astrology, basically looked into the stars and told Tom, ‘We’re not compatible.
“This was never Tom’s idea. Anderson’s book makes a more unusual claim about the final stage of the marriage. And just like that, she was done,” the source alleges in the book.
