The restaurant has built its identity around premium steak offerings, including beef from Kansas’ Foote Ranch and a 40-ounce Wagyu Tomahawk supplied by Snake River Farms. The concept was developed with hospitality company Noble 33, which also operates several high-profile restaurants. The name 1587 has a direct connection to the Chiefs stars, combining Mahomes’ No. 15 jersey number with Kelce’s No. 87. Noble 33 director of hospitality Sacha Tanha previously described how the partnership came together. The Yelp recognition comes while 1587 Prime remains connected to an ongoing legal dispute. 1587 Sneakers, a footwear and apparel company, has accused Kelce, Mahomes and business entities linked to the restaurant of trademark infringement and unfair competition. The company says it has used the 1587 name since 2023. Its trademark application covers clothing, while the restaurant’s application, filed in December 2023, relates to restaurant and bar services.
