This initiative is part of a broader effort to challenge Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives in various sectors, including technology. Trump’s actions also aim to position the United States as a leader in AI exports, reflecting a strategic focus on enhancing the country’s competitive edge in the global AI market.
“While the Federal Government should be hesitant to regulate the functionality of AI models in the private marketplace, in the context of Federal procurement, it has the obligation not to procure models that sacrifice truthfulness and accuracy to ideological agendas,” according to the order published on the White House website.
