Amazon has unveiled its largest operations network expansion to date, launching 20 new fulfillment centres (FCs), including first-ever facilities in Raipur, Ranchi, and Varanasi. This expansion increases Amazon’s total storage capacity by 50% to 64 million cubic feet, equivalent to more than 720 Olympic-sized swimming pools. Seven of the new FCs are located in non-metro cities, strengthening Amazon’s reach into Tier 2 and Tier 3 regions.
Amazon has added 150 new last-mile delivery stations across 118 cities, including its first-ever presence in 12 new cities such as Bhojpur, Bokajan, Jalaun, Jehanabad, Namsai, Puruliya, Ribhoi, Senapati, Sivasagar, Udalguri, Ukhrul, and Wokha. This expansion enables faster and more reliable deliveries, with same-day services now reaching 30% more cities compared to last year. The expansion is part of Amazon’s ₹2,800 crore investment to strengthen its India operations network.
Amazon continues to scale Amazon Now, its ultra-fast delivery service, currently available in over 55 cities through more than 750 stores. Abhinav Singh, VP – Operations, India, APAC, Middle East, Türkiye and Africa, said: “We are investing over ₹2,800 crore to strengthen and upgrade our operations network and enhance the technology that powers our infrastructure.
The company plans to expand this “delivery in minutes” network to over 300 cities. Ahead of the festive season, we are excited to have these new facilities operational and ready to serve customers across India.”
