Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, whose company has become one of the biggest suppliers of chips powering the artificial intelligence boom, has been left off Time magazine’s 2026 list of the 100 most influential people in AI. The 2026 list includes several prominent figures from technology, business and entertainment, including Elon Musk , OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei. Because jensen Huang featured on the list in each of its first three editions, starting in 2023, the omission has drawn attention.
Time says its annual list recognises people who are shaping the key developments in artificial intelligence and influencing the technology’s growth.
Jensen Huang’s absence stands out given Nvidia’s central role in the AI industry. The company’s graphics processing units, or GPUs, are widely used to train and run advanced AI systems, making Nvidia a major player in the rapid growth of the sector. Several of the biggest names in AI are featured on this year’s list. These include SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei. The list also includes executives and leaders associated with companies including IBM, Google DeepMind, ByteDance, Broadcom, Databricks, Amazon and Oracle.
