Each patch comes from a jersey worn during a game in which the player hit a home run. Judge’s patch came from a game four days later, when he faced Ohtani and the Los Angeles Dodgers. Six players, including Judge and Ohtani, wore the gold patches that year, each representing a reigning award winner in Major League Baseball.
