The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is issuing what it calls the “Patel Report,” ostensibly named after Director Kash Patel, to its workforce, examining chapters in the bureau’s history “where this institution fell short,” The Associated Press reported. The FBI message also said the Patel Report is intended to “promote fierce organisational accountability” and rebuild “public trust.” It was unclear which episodes from the FBI’s past are chronicled in the report.

At his confirmation hearing last year, Patel had pledged that he would not look “backward.
