Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar : Against the backdrop of a deepening drought across parts of Maharashtra , particularly Marathwada, Devendra Seva Mahotsav has announced a major relief and livelihood initiative, including the distribution of water tanks to 1,000 gram panchayats and sewing machines to 500 women.

Organisers said the water tanks will help gram panchayats ensure drinking water for animals as farmers and livestock rearers struggle with water scarcity in drought-hit areas. Rajendra Sabale, founding president of Devendra Seva Mahotsav, said the programme seeks to translate the ideals of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj into social action. In the prevailing drought situation, we want to provide tangible assistance to those who need it,” Sabale said. In a symbolic gesture, actors Shantanu Moghe and Alka Kubal, who are associated with Praudh Pratap Purandar, will participate in the production without accepting any honorarium, organisers said.

“Devendra Seva Mahotsav is not merely an event. It is an effort to serve society by extending support to farmers and livestock rearers, empowering women and instilling hope among people through the welfare-oriented thoughts of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
