Madurai cops foil revenge attack, nab 4 armed youngsters
The arrested were identified as Dinesh , 20, Kottai Karuppu, 18, both from Thirumogur, and Siva , 21, from Narasingam. Preliminary investigations revealed that the gang harboured enmity with a group from Pudur and had assembled with concealed weapons for revenge.
Police said a patrol team led by sub-inspector Thandeeswaran spotted the accused behind a Shell petrol pump near Mattuthavani. On noticing police personnel, the gang attempted to flee the spot but was nabbed. A minor boy, also a resident of Narasingam, was apprehended along with them. Police seized their weapons and registered a case under relevant sections of Arms Act and BNS against them. the minor was produced before Juvenile Justice Board and lodged at an observation home in Madurai While the three adults were remanded in judicial custody.
Madurai: Police on Tuesday arrested four people, including a minor, who were allegedly lying in wait with weapons behind a petrol bunk on Madurai–Trichy national highway to execute a revenge attack on rivals.
