A few months ago, in an interview with NPR’s Scott Simon, Ayesha Curry opened up about why there was a literacy gap in their hometown as she said, “A lot of times, the students come into the school system, and their parents can’t read at home. Seven years ago, the four time NBA champion Stephen Curry and his wife, Ayesha Curry, had only one goal in their lives as they set out to help and be there for children coming from underprivileged families and impoverished backgrounds. Both of them set up Eat. Learn & Play with a goal to provide nutritious meals and quality education across children in Oakland. And so, of course, when their parents, you know, are not reading to them and nurturing them in that way as much as they want to, they don’t have that option.”
Curry Celebrates Foundation Milestone Amid NBA Success
Stephen Curry, the star player for the Golden State Warriors and a four-time NBA champion, recently celebrated a significant milestone with his foundation, Eat. Learn & Play. The foundation, which focuses on improving the lives of children in Oakland, marked its seventh anniversary. Alongside his wife, Ayesha Curry, Stephen has remained committed to their philanthropic efforts, even as he continues to be a dominant force on the basketball court.
