Mumbai: Maharashtra’s public health department will henceforth: The wider industry impact

Mumbai: Maharashtra’s public health department will henceforth factor annual performance, rather than seniority alone, into future postings and responsibilities of civil surgeons and district health officers.

Annual Performance Assessments for Health Department Officers

The state health minister, Prakash Abitkar, announced that the health department will implement an objective annual assessment process. This evaluation will utilize a 100-point scale to measure officers’ performance. Furthermore, the three-year performance reports of these officers will be taken into account for future job postings, the assignment of responsibilities, and the selection of new opportunities.

For doctors who completed at least three years of service by March 31, 2026, performance during 2023-24, 2024-25 and 2025-26 will be assessed across 11 parameters.
