She died by suicide on August 13, following which an accidental death report was registered.
Police said the deceased was identified as Urmila Gupta.
NAVI MUMBAI: Alibag police in Raigad district have registered a case against a 27-year-old mason and his parents for alleged abetment of suicide and dowry-related harassment following the death of his wife at their residence in Vidya Nagar, Alibag. API Mohini Kapile of Alibag police said the deceased woman was identified as Urmila Gupta (27). She died by suicide on August 13, following which an accidental death report (ADR) was registered. But, the FIR of suicide abetment was registered on Sept 9 after recording the statements of the complainant Deepak Gupta and his family members.
The three accused have allegedly gone absconding after learning about the FIR, police said. API Kapile said, “The deceased has not left any note before committing suicide. The police team had gone to the acccused’ house in Vidya Nagar, Alibaug, but it was found locked and they are suspected to have absconded to their native place.”
