Police said the truck belonged to Vijay, a resident of Bahadurgarh in Haryana, while manager, Deepak alias Deeparam, was coordinating the operation. The Trans Yamuna police team was conducting checking and patrolling when it received information that a truck carrying liquor allegedly sourced illegally from Punjab was parked near Jharna Nala on the highway towards Firozabad. The consignment was allegedly being transported to Bihar . Acting on the tip-off, police reached the spot and arrested the two occupants of the truck — driver Daluram and Nanagaram, both residents of Barmer in Rajasthan. They claimed the liquor had been purchased cheaply in Punjab and was being transported to Bihar, where it could fetch a higher price. Both Vijay and Deepak are wanted in the case.
