Ahmedabad witnessed a tense incident on Tuesday night when a woman confronted a two-wheeler rider for allegedly driving on the wrong side of the road. Her remark, “Aandhalo che?” (Are you blind?), sparked a confrontation that escalated into a chase through the city streets. The altercation highlights ongoing concerns regarding traffic safety and road etiquette in urban areas.

The 33-year-old woman told Navrangpura police that she was returning home with her husband and young son after dinner when a two-wheeler allegedly approached them from the wrong side near Girish Cold Drink crossroads. In a separate incident, a 36-year-old businessman alleged that a risky overtaking manoeuvre on SG Highway led to an assault near Gota Bridge on Wednesday morning.

He was travelling with his wife and three-year-old daughter when a car allegedly overtook his vehicle in a manner that nearly caused a collision, according to his complaint with Sola police. As people gathered, she called the police helpline and later lodged a complaint against the four men. The businessman raised an alarm, prompting people nearby to intervene and separate them. He subsequently called police and lodged a complaint.

The rider and three others then followed the family on two scooters and intercepted their vehicle on CG Road, according to the complaint. Alarmed by the rider’s speed, she allegedly asked him, “Are you blind? Can’t you see?” before her family continued towards Swastik crossroads. They allegedly blocked their vehicle and abused and threatened the woman.
