In Ahmedabad, a woman from Gota has filed a complaint alleging that the sister of a man accused of rape threatened to distribute morphed nude images of her unless she retracted her case. The woman reported the incident to the Sola High Court police, leading to the registration of the complaint on Wednesday.

The complainant said she feared the photographs would be made public and that she and her daughter would face humiliation. The complainant told police that the threats had caused her severe distress and that she feared the photographs could be circulated if she did not withdraw the case. She had filed a rape case and invoked other BNS provisions against the man, who is a resident of Madhya Pradesh, in March 2026, according to the woman. The complainant alleged that on Aug 15, while she was at home, she received WhatsApp calls and messages from the accused’s sister, who also lives in MP.
The woman pleaded with the alleged sender not to circulate the photographs and said that attempts to pressure her would not work, according to the complaint. One message allegedly told her there was no point in continuing the proceedings, as the case would eventually be closed. He is currently out on bail. She claimed that the woman, who had been showing the morphed photographs to people in the city they live in, had warned her to withdraw the case. The woman further alleged that the sender threatened to publicly circulate the photographs if she continued to pursue the proceedings. She claimed the messages warned that she and her daughter would face serious embarrassment and difficulties if she refused to back down.
