NEW DELHI: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on Friday scaled down the number of metro stations facing entry and exit restrictions from 57 to 45, with the revised curbs in place from 9pm on Friday until 6pm on Saturday for security reasons, news agency PTI reported. Earlier, the DMRC had announced that entry and exit gates at 57 metro stations, including Rajiv Chowk, New Delhi, Central Secretariat, Patel Chowk and Kashmere Gate, would remain closed from 9pm on Friday until further notice. Restrictions will continue on October 10, with interchange facilities remaining available at all affected stations except New Delhi metro station, according to the DMRC. As per the PTI report, interchange facilities will remain available at all affected stations, except New Delhi metro station, the DMRC said in a revised advisory. The situation will be reviewed by security agencies, and further updates will be shared accordingly, the corporation said, adding that the revised advisory partially modifies its earlier update on station closures. The affected stations include Janpath, Patel Chowk, Central Secretariat, Lok Kalyan Marg, Rajiv Chowk, New Delhi, Seva Teerth, Mandi House, Barakhamba Road, ITO, Delhi Gate, Khan Market, Ramakrishna Ashram Marg, Jhandewalan, Supreme Court, Indraprastha and Shivaji Stadium. Other stations where entry and exit will remain closed are Dilli Haat-INA, Hauz Khas, Jor Bagh, Lajpat Nagar, Jangpura, Ashram, Jamia Millia Islamia, Chawri Bazar, Jama Masjid, Karol Bagh, Rajendra Place, Vishwavidyalaya, Kashmere Gate, Inderlok, Guru Teg Bahadur Nagar, Netaji Subhash Place, Azadpur, Jahangirpuri, Haiderpur Badli Mor and Majlis Park. The list also includes Seelampur, Maujpur-Babarpur, Jafrabad, Welcome, Yamuna Vihar, Khajuri Khas, Shahdara and Rithala. Download the TOI App.
