New Delhi: Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has launched digital outreach measures to make the Master Plan for Delhi-2047 (MPD-2047) easier for residents and stakeholders to understand and participate in its implementation.
Officials said that taking note of common queries related to new policies, DDA has uploaded comprehensive FAQs on its website that address land pooling, transit oriented development (TOD), high density corridors, low density areas (LDA), redevelopment, heritage, public spaces and in-situ slum rehabilitation. The initiative has been undertaken on the directions of lieutenant governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu.
DDA has also introduced an MPD-2047 (feedback) facility on its citizen services platform, allowing citizens and stakeholders to directly submit suggestions. The digital initiatives complement DDA’s ongoing three-month stakeholder engagement programme, under which 20 meetings will be held with elected representatives, govt agencies, service providers, industry bodies, architects, planners, residents, farmers, landowners and other stakeholders. “The FAQs explain practical aspects such as land use, permissible activities, FAR, plot requirements, parking, transferable development rights (TDR), eligibility and development models under the land pooling policy, besides norms and approval processes under TOD and other policies,” an official said. Separate meetings will discuss education and medical hubs,” said the authority. Earlier reporting noted: “As part of this initiative, DDA has made available a comprehensive set of Frequently Asked Questions on MPD-2047 on its official website, under the “What’s New” section. The FAQs provide citizens and stakeholders with simple, easily accessible information on the various provisions of the Master Plan,” the DDA said in a statement.
The resource is aimed at helping residents, landowners, professionals, developers and other stakeholders. “Discussions will focus on implementation of TOD, HDC and land pooling, LDA, private-sector participation, industrial development, group housing redevelopment, Yamuna and blue-green areas, heritage conservation, mixed-use development, commercial centres, in-situ slum redevelopment and decongestion.
